Jadey's Hideout

Jun. 2nd, 2004 07:20 pm Hrmph.

We're rehearsing Pirates of Penzance so much now that we're missing 80% of our classes. Well, I am, anyway. Some miss more than others. The members of Orchestra are only having 95% of their lessons cause they're needed to play so much. Bah. All of my friends in Orchestra. No fun at recess without em.

I'm glad we're missing so much. The only things I've taken this week is Art and a dreary English project on Polar Regions. Utter confusion, really, because the first session Miss M was taking it, and she said we were doing Antarctica, and we were to focus on one specific thing about Antarctica, and I chose Wildlife. But then the next session Mrs U, who got a break from watching the rehearsals, come along and SHE said we were concentrating on the entire topic of Polar Regions, so I had to start from scratch all over again. Lucky those people who missed the session with Miss M. The only thing is, I don't think we managed to start anything, because the amount of time we had was about 15 minutes >_<

I made a topic on the Neoboards Beauty Contest, with the title as "Free Votes... if you deserve them *smirks* " to see how many posts I could get, and it was like a bomb dropped on me >_<

I'm having a hard time keeping up.

We're quite deep into May now, but it still feels like early May. I don't know why, but it doesn't feel like April, either.

Hm. Plenty to tell you, if I could be bothered to write a long entry, but I can't, so let's sum it all up.

Great day at school. I did really well on the writing exam, the spelling exam was easy (though I was shocked when Rachel told me later she had spelt the easiest word "thoroughly" as "thurrely" because she had never heard of it before O.o,) and the mental mathematics was the greatest of all, cause it wasn't exceedingly simple, but I think I got every question correct.

Swimming was torture today. The teacher made us swim butterfly with the ... ah... thing you jam between your legs, whatever you call it. (Funny, how I have a load of vocabulary that can win me through any quiz, but I don't know something simple like that. What is it? Leg-float? A float?) Anyway. You try doing that! The teacher might have wanted us to improve our arm stroke, but we were too busy thinking: "Must... resist... using... legs...!"

Another maths test and a writing test today. I think I did wonderfully. At least on the maths one.

I think I'm starting to like maths again ^_^

Maths and reading test today. I don't think I did too badly on either. I'm sure I got 2 questions wrong on the maths, but I can't tell on the reading one (I answered all the questions, anyway.)

I was sick with fever yesterday. Missed school, missed piano lesson. I didn't feel great from morning to noon, but after that it was great.

I wish I was sick today, too. Started off school, and for the first two hours my teacher "wasn't very impressed" with me. {Well, thank you for your kind greetings. I'm quite well now. Yeah, it's very nice to see you, too.}

After school, swimming. I don't know what the point is. I mean, it's the same for everyone (almost) : You know all the strokes, but the teacher still nitpicks on you. Like, HELLO, I know how to swim, the aim of the lesson is to swim, I won't drown, what's the point of perfectioning my strokes? Not like they can be perfectioned...(there always has to be this minor mistake. Always. -_-)

Every single day, when something partly-interested sparks up in my life, I vow, "I shall post about this on my LJ."

The thing is, I never do. I hardly update my LJ now. I mean, I do come on and read a few of my friend's entries (though can barely be bothered to comment) and then close the window.

People say it's not possible to notice somebody growing smarter as the days go by, while you see them daily. But I've found out that's not true. In only 3 days, I've noticed my baby brother pointing out of the window, staring at the reflection of the lightbulb, and calling out, "moo!" (moon) to having him ask me as he stared up at the sky, "Isheet der ho moong?" (is it the whole moon?)

Mar. 7th, 2004 07:48 pm Universe, just drop dead.

I'm going to CIS (Chinese International School.) It's like my insides are all empty. My parents had plenty of arguments: ESF (that's English Schools Foundation) are having financial problems, KGV's Mandarin crap, CIS has a better reputation, etc.

And what argument do I have? Because CIS is PINK? Honestly.

Maybe I wouldn’t be so sad if it weren’t for my friends. They're off to KGV, and I leave them. Only 2 use MSN so I can communicate to them, and one of them's going off to England for good.

My parents have told me that I'm only going to CIS for one year, and if I don’t like it, I can go to KGV. But what if I'm torn between 2 decisions? What if I make too many friends in CIS? And if I DO go to KGV, and meet my old friends again, it's going to be really unnerving if I find out that they've changed. Ok, so we all have to change, but what if one of my best friends is an ignorant, flirting, prat when I get back?

I can type and type about this, only all the things are mixed up inside my head. Not going to KGV might mean I'm never going to meet an online friend.

Feb. 13th, 2004 08:43 pm Pissed off -_-

My last Sports day of this school, and it got totally screwed up, thanks to the blind judges. In the Heat Sprint, this is how it actually went as the first six: Florence, Aphida, Rebecca, Holly and Rachel tied, me and then Melissa. This is how the judges see it: Florence, Holly, Rebecca, Rachel, Dorothy, and then me -_- HAH. Stupid idiots. They were supposed to OPEN THEIR EYES WIDE AND LOOK! To make it worse, in the Final Sprint, with Florence and Holly, they came second and third, but their places were given to Ashley and Faye.

To make things worse, I had an MSN chat with Rebecca and Claudia.

Rebecca: Wud dup [insert flow of revolting chatspeak here]

Me: "Wud Dup"?

Rebecca: wud dup is wuzzup. Use some cool language, dude

Claudia: You talk cool

Which got me totally sick. The stupid, dipshitted Rebecca and sucking-up, thick-headed Claudia. Nice day today, eh?

Jan. 31st, 2004 09:15 pm Meh.

We were given 3 weeks to prepare 10-minute talks for homework. And guess what? On Friday (yesterday) our teacher said we'd be starting the talks on Monday. She has a box of all our names in it, and basically she pulled out 3 names for each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to do their talks. Next week can wait.

She pulled Albert's name out for Monday, and he was so upset about it he was in tears XD So the (far-too-soft) teacher pulled out another name. She stared at it for a moment, and I was just imagining her saying Sally (my real name) when guess what? 'Sally!'

*snorts* I didn't even get round to starting it yet. But today, I managed to finally choose a subject and get some research done. We're allowed to have notes, but I've barely finished typing them up. So much for my teacher having confidence in me doing some great talk.

Mandarin class starts at 9:30 (well, it was 9:30 today, just been changed to start at 9:15) and I woke up at  *hoots with laughter* 9:20. Hrmph. I brushed my teeth, packed my bag, drank some sort of milk called Dou Nai and grabbed a cookie as I went out of the door. Cookie and Dou Nai don't go well together. I woke very late, true, but nevertheless got there on time (O.o) We got the results of our test paper back. I managed to edge my way into A-. *yawn* My shoulders ached all through the lesson. At the break in the middle of the class, I got out my notebook and drew a comic. The other pupils in the Mandarin class are Melissa, Myra, Julia, Kelse (or is it Kelsea?) and 3 guys that all happened to be named Eric. Well, here's how it (my comic strip) went:

Myra: Melissa should stop looking at my fish!

Julia: No. You must give her your fish.

Myra: *picture of Myra stabbing Julia*

Eric: Ah! You stabbed my girlfriend!

Myra: I thought I was your girlfriend!

When I showed Myra, she got mad, and rubbed all of my precious work out :| Ah well.

I've got a competition to go to tomorrow, and I haven't even got my introduction planned. *yawn* I think I'll do it... *checks clock* Well, it's now 9:30pm, I'll start on it at 11:00pm? XD

Jan. 23rd, 2004 08:59 pm *yawn*

I've been away from PPT for two days. We get a week off for Chinese New Year. That meant no school. It meant no work. Unfortunately, it meant no computer as well, because I had so much to occupy myself with.

Firstly, the books that I was supposed to receive for Christmas arrived. *snorts* It took a month to ship them. It was Firesong by William Nicholson (or was it Nicholas Williamson) , and the last four books of the Animorphs series. I kind of didn't like the end of both of them. In Firesong, Kestrel is there but not there. She's dead. In the end of Animorphs, Rachel dies, and the rest of them become 19. In the first book they were 13 -_- Also, it just ENDS when Ax gets caught by the Blade Ship.

My family watched Terminator 3 today. It was cool, I like the robot's accents. My dad bought it JUST because the girl robot used the grinding wheel or whatever to free herself from the magnetic field XD He teaches Mechanical Engineering, but to buy a DVD for the purpose of some 5 seconds in the movie... *shakes head in disbelief*

We were supposed to go and watch the pretty fireworks today, but due to the weather, we canceled it. It's FREEZING! Ah well. *blows on her frozen fingers*

At music today, my partner (Florence) and I noticed this written at the bottom of the sheet our teacher had given us: "Photocopying this copyright material is ILLEGAL". We started to giggle, and I told Dorothy next to me. She shrugged and said "So what?" -_- However, Rachel and Melissa behind us stared at it, wide-eyed. When I told the music teacher about it later, he told me that it didn't matter as long as we didn't take it home. Hmph. I was hoping he'd jump a mile and start panicking.

Jan. 9th, 2004 04:56 pm Whee...

I wrote a lovely Haiku about my teacher today. Be prepared to roll your eyes:

Teacher has nice eyes

Teacher has beautiful nose

Teacher has nice mouth

Did I say I wrote that? Sorry. I wrote it with Melissa at the back of the classroom in whispers.
